Mie

Mie Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of Japans main island and is home to Ise Jingu or the Ise Grand Shrine, one of Japans most sacred places. The beautiful Rias Coast is a fertile fishing ground, where things such as Abalone and Ise-Ebi - Spiny Lobster are caught. It is well known for its pearl production. In the Ise-Shima National Park that unfolds across the Ise Peninsula is Meoto Iwa, known as the Married couple rocks which are connected by rice straw ropes.
