The National Art Center, Tokyo
The National Art Center, Tokyo was opened in 2007 and is Japan's fifth national art museum. One of the major characteristics of the Center is that it does not house permanent displays of paintings from famous artists; instead, the Center mainly hosts exhibitions of work sourced from the public (the Center invites contributions and displays pieces from a wide variety of general public patrons), as well as planned exhibitions.
