Byodoin Temple 【World Heritage】
This was originally a villa of Fujiwara no Michinaga. His son, Yorimichi reconstructed it into a temple in 1052, in the late Heian Period. The Hoodo (National Treasure), an image of which is featured on the 10-yen coin, represents the Land of Happiness which noblemen dreamt of.
It is enrolled in a World Heritage.
