Kishu TouShouGu

Kishu TouShouGu

Tokugawa Yorinobu was the 10th Child of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the first Feudal Lord of Kishu. He founded the Gongenzukuri style Shrine to show worship to his Father Ieyasu in 1621. Just as the Nikko Toushougu, there is Sajin Goro's sculpture and Kano Tanyu's painted fusuma inside the gorgeous main building. There are 7 buildings including the vermillion Towergate, the front shrine, and the main shrine that are certified national important cultural properties which represent the Edo Period and received the hereditary custom from the Momoyama Period.
